Nude as it should be.

The fashion community has a problem when it comes to the word nude.

Take the fashion capital of New York, home to one of the most racially diverse populations in the world. However, when it comes to buying everyday items such as band-aids and lingerie, it’s pretty hard to find diversity through different shades of nude.

The definition of nude relating to clothing or makeup is a ‘color resembling that of the wearer’s skin’. Pretty simple, right? Yet a Google search of the term ‘nude underwear’ reveals a number of light beige/peachy colored products, although the skin color of the models range from white, olive and black.

In 2018, this is not ok. Diversity and inclusion of all races is important on the runway, and in the fashion community as role models for wider society.
